Police News Release - October 2nd, 2026

Theft Under $5000
On October 1st at 9:45 a.m., Brandon Police Service (BPS) received a report of a male shoplifter from a Loss Prevention Officer at a store in the Corral Centre.
The male had stolen approximately $50 worth of jewelry before leaving the store on foot. Police located and arrested the suspect a short distance away.
The male was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and released by way of Undertaking, with a court date scheduled for December 10th, 2026.
Traffic Stop Leads to Two Charges
On October 1st at 4:15 p.m., a BPS officer conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of 12th Street. A 33-year-old male was in the vehicle with a 33-year-old female, whom he was under court-ordered conditions not to have contact with. The female initially provided police with a false name. She was subsequently identified, charged with Public Mischief, and released by way of Appearance Notice, with a court date scheduled for December 10th, 2026. The male was arrested and transported to the Brandon Police Service detention cells to appear in court on the morning of October 2nd, 2026.
