Police News Release - May 9, 2026

Assault

On May 9, 2026, police responded to a residence following a complaint of an assault.  A 61-year-old male was arrested after it was alleged he kicked his girlfriend during an argument.  He was later released for court on July 16, 2026.

 

Break and Enter – Suspect Arrested

On April 30, 2026, a suspect broke into an apartment building in the 600 block of 11th street, damaged the mailboxes and stole mail.  Police were able to identify the suspect from the security footage.  On May 8, 2026, the 41-year-old male suspect was arrested and lodged for court.  He will appear on charges of Break and Enter and Commit Theft, Mischief Under $5000 and Theft From Mail.

 

Assault

On May 7, 2026, police responded to a report of an assault which occurred in the 000 block of 7th street.  The victim was punched in the face by the suspect who could not immediately be located.  Police located and arrested the suspect on May 8, 2026.  The 30-year-old male was released to appear in court on July 9, 2026.

 

Failure to Comply with Court Orders

Over the last 24 hours, three individuals were arrested in separate incidents for failing to abide by release conditions.

 

Breach of the Peace / Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act

Over the last 24 hours, police attended 8 separate incidents in which 8 individuals were arrested and lodged until sober.

 

Arrest Warrants

Over the last 24 hours, 5 individuals were arrested on outstanding Warrant of Arrest.
