Police News Release- May 7th, 2026
Obtain Sexual Services for Consideration
On 2026-05-06, it was reported to police that, between the dates of January 2025 and April 2026, a 76-year-old man was buying items for a female in exchange for sexual services. This male has since been arrested and released to attend Court in June 2026.
Extortion, Distribute Child Porn, Possess Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material
On 2026-01-19, it was reported to police that a female youth had sent intimate images of herself to a male. This 16-year-old male was now extorting the female requesting more photos or he would release the photo she had sent him. The accused proceeded to share the photo and on 2026-05-06 he was arrested. The accused will have court in July 2026 facing the above noted charges.
Intoxicated Youth/Breach of Peace
On 2026-05-07 at 0037 hrs, Police were requested to a home on Westaway Bay for a highly intoxicated youth causing a disturbance within a residence. The youth was arrested for her own safety and the safety of others in the home. She will be released in the morning to an adult once sober.
