Police News Release - May 4th, 2026

Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested on the strength of their BPS Warrants for Arrest. Both were held for court in the morning.
Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours three females were arrested due to Breach of the Peace. One female was causing a disturbance at the hospital ER then proceeded to try vehicle door handles in the parking lot. The other two females were causing a disturbance at a hotel in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue and police were requested to remove the unwanted duo as they were refusing to leave the premises. All three were brought to BPS detention cells to prevent the continuation of behaviour and will be released once sober/calm.
Domestic Assault
On May 3rd at approximately 1:07 p.m., police were called to a residence in the 700 block of 9th Street for a reported domestic disturbance. A 47-year-old male, who also resides at the address, became involved in an argument with his ex-partner. During the altercation, he allegedly forcefully grabbed her amongst his attempt to make her go with him. The male had left the scene prior to police arrival. He was later located by police, arrested, and charged. He was subsequently released on an Undertaking, with a court date scheduled for July 16th, 2026.
Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
On May 3rd at 2:35 p.m. police were called to the 500 block of Ross Avenue for a male carrying a paring knife. The male dropped the knife as police arrived and he was taken into custody. The male was held in custody for court in the morning on May 4th, 2026.
