Police News Release - May 21st, 2026

Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Both remained in custody for court in the morning on May 21st , 2026.
Failure to Comply Release Order x3
On April 23rd a male was released by the Courts to reside at a certain address which includes a 9:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m. curfew. On May 19th an officer confirmed this address does not exist resulting in three breaches. On May 20th at 9:38 p.m. the 38-year-old male was arrested outside a business in the 000 block of 10th Street. The male was held in BPS detention cells for court in the morning on May 21st, 2026.
Failure to Comply Undertaking
On May 20th at 10:45 p.m. police observed a male in the 000 block of 5th Street, contrary to his 10:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. curfew to be at his home address. The male was released on an Appearance Notice with a future court date of July 30th, 2026.
Sexual Assault / Forcible Confinement
On April 24th, a local massage therapist reported that she had been sexually assaulted by a client, who also briefly prevented her from leaving the room. The employee was able to break free from the man’s grip on her arm and exit safely.
On May 21st at 10:50 p.m. police located the 37-year-old suspect at his residence in the 1500 block of 20th Street. He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 30th, 2026.
Protective Detention & Care of Intoxicated Persons Act
In the past 24 hours one individual was arrested due to intoxication levels. The 19-year-old female will be released in the morning once sober.
Fraud Under $5000
Further investigation revealed that the male referenced in yesterday’s media release had fraudulently sold two sea cans for $1,500. An online advertisement had been posted, and the buyer met the suspect at the location of the sea cans, where payment was made in full with cash. The 49-year-old male had already been remanded into custody on May 20th in relation to previous charges from the day before. He is scheduled to appear in court on the morning of May 21st to face the new charges.
The accused is currently being held at the Brandon Correctional Centre on a three-day remand under an investigative Warrant.
Mischief Under $5000 / Failure to Comply Release Order
On May 20th at 4:29 p.m. police were informed that a 24-year-old female had attended a 33-year-old male’s residence while highly intoxicated and had smashed several windows using two rocks. The female was also found to be in breach of a Release Order condition prohibiting communication between the two parties. She was subsequently located and arrested, held in BPS detention cells and is scheduled to appear in court on the morning of May 21st, 2026.
