Breach of the Peace / Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act
In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace and three for Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act. All individuals were brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells to be released once sober/calm.
Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours three individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Two were released with future court dates and one was held for court in the morning on May 15th, 2026.
Assault with a Weapon
On May 14th at 2:51 p.m. BPS received reports of an assault in the 100 block of Rosser Avenue. A 30-year-old male had confronted a 40-year-old male (unknown to one another) with a BBQ fork and tried to stab him in the chest. The victim sustained two puncture marks to the chest. EMS medically cleared the victim at the scene. The 30-year-old male was arrested and held at BPS for court in the morning.
Assault
On May 12th, an intoxicated male attended BPS to report an assault that had occurred at his residence on May 1st. The male returned the following day, once sober, to provide an official statement. On May 14th, a 42-year-old female was located, arrested, and charged with one count of Assault in relation to the incident. She was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 27th, 2026.
Assault
In the early morning hours of May 15th at 5:19 a.m., police responded to a report of an assault at a motel in the 800 block of Middleton Avenue. The 22-year-old female victim appeared to have sustained minor bruising and swelling to the left side of her face and eye. A 24-year-old highly intoxicated male was arrested on scene in relation to the incident and lodged in BPS detention cells. He will be released on an Undertaking once sober, with a future court date to be determined.
