Police News Release - June 27, 2026

Assault

On June 26, 2026, shortly after 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence.  The female victim was struck in the face but did not require medical attention.  The 54-year-old male was arrested and later released to appear in court on August 20, 2026, on a charge of Assault.

 

Assault

On June 26, 2026, at approximately 11:00 am, police responded to a request to remove an unwanted female from a residence.  Once there, two individuals disclosed being assaulted by the other one.  Neither person required medical attention.  Both the 19-year-old male and 18-year-old female were arrested and released to appear in court on assault charges on a later date.

 

Theft Under $5000

On June 26, 2026, shortly after 2:00 pm, police responded to a report of a shoplifter at a business in the 900 block of 19th street N.  Employees were holding the male until police arrived.  The 28-year-old male was later released to appear in court on September 3, 2026, on a charge of Theft Under $500.

 

Resist Arrest

On June 27, 2026, shortly before 3:00 am, police responded to a 911 call coming from a residence where call takers could hear a commotion.  Police were told that the individual causing the issues had left, but he was quickly found hiding in the bushes outside. The male resisted being arrested and was uncooperative with police who later learned he had given a false name and was in fact wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant.  The 26-year-old male was lodged to appear in court today on charges of Resist Arrest, Public Mischief, and Fail to Comply with Release Order X6.

 

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

On June 26, 2026, at approximately 9:00 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Victoria Ave.  The Alberta license plate on the vehicle was reported as stolen.  The 49-year-old female was arrested and later released to appear in court on September 14, 2026, on a charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

 

Possession of Weapons

On June 26, 2026, shortly after 6:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in the 1600 block of 18th street jumping in front of traffic.  Following his arrest, police located a can of bear spray and a folding knife on him.  He was lodged to be released once sober to appear in court September 10, 2026, on charges of Possess Weapon X2 and Carry Concealed Weapon X2.

 

Other Arrests

Over the last 24 hours seven individuals have been arrested during separate incidents and lodged until sober due to their behavior while intoxicated by drugs or alcohol.

 

Arrest Warrants

Over the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants.
