Breach of the Peace

Over the past 24 hours, four individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace and brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. All will be released once sober/calm.

Break & Enter with Intent

On June 10th at 12:55 a.m., police responded to a reported break and enter in the 3100 block of McDonald Avenue, during which bear spray was used inside the residence by the suspect. The homeowner reported hearing the video doorbell then seeing a male at the back of her house via video doorbell. She heard crashing from the back window, started having trouble breathing due to the bear spray, and upon coming upstairs discovered her television had been stolen. The suspect fled in a red truck. Officers obtained a statement from the homeowner and collected photographic evidence.

At 1:53 a.m., a BPS constable observed a similar vehicle at 18th and Richmond and conducted a traffic stop. The operator, a 44-year-old male, matched the individual captured in the doorbell video. He was arrested for break and enter. Upon use of an Approved Screening Device, the male was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition after blowing a warning. The male was later released on an Undertaking. A court date has been set for August 10th, 2026.

Arrest Warrant

On June 9th BPS was contacted by Public Prosecution Service of Canada requesting assistance in executing a Warrant for Arrest on a 36-year-old male already in custody at Brandon Correctional Centre. The Warrant was executed as requested. The subject attended court that same day via video.
