Police News Release - July 7th, 2026

Breach of Peace

On July 7th at approximately 1:05 a.m., police received a report of an intoxicated male outside a hotel in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue who was threatening others. Officers attended the scene and arrested the 41-year-old man. He was lodged in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells to prevent the continuation of the behavior.

 

On July 7th at 5:46 a.m. police were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 400 block of 15th Street. A 21-year-old highly intoxicated female was arrested to prevent the continuation of her behavior. 

Both will be released once sober.

 

Failure to Comply Probation

On July 6th at 7:58 p.m. a male attended BPS admitting that he had breached his court ordered conditions of no weapons. The male had made a weapon by putting a rock in a sock. The male was arrested and held in BPS detention cells. He will attend court in the morning on July 7th, 2026.

 

Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act

In the past 24 hours, one individual was lodged in BPS detention cells under the PDCIPA. On July 6th at 9:15 p.m. a 41-year-old intoxicated male was causing a disturbance in his neighbourhood on McVicar Crescent. He was arrested and held in custody until he was sober and could be safely released.

 

Arrest Warrants

In the past 24 hours one individual was arrested on the strength of their Warrant for Arrest (Failure to Comply Release Order x5, Failure to Comply Undertaking, Failure to Comply Court Order). The 36-year-old male was arrested and later released via Appearance Notice with a future court date of August 26th, 2026.
