Police News Release - July 18, 2026

Warrant/Intoxicated Persons/Breach of Peace

Within the past 24 hours, 1 individual has been arrested for an outstanding warrant and 10 due to public intoxication or breach of peace.

Impaired/Refusal

On July 17th, 2026 at 2329 hrs, police responded to the 6500 block of Richmond Avenue for a report of a single vehicle roll over.  The 25-year-old male driver did not sustain any injuries and displayed symptoms of intoxication by alcohol.  The accused was subsequently conveyed to Brandon Police Service for breath samples whereby he refused to comply.  The accused was lodged at BPS and will be released once sober with conditions to appear in court on July 23rd, 2026 for the charges of Operation while Impaired and Refuse to Provide Sample with Demand.

Failure to Comply Probation

On July 17th, 2026 an individual reported that a 43-year-old male was bound by a Probation condition for no contact, and was repeatedly violating the order.  The accused was located by police at his residence and lodged to appear before the court on July 18th, 2026.

Stabbing

On July 17th, 2026 at 0414 hrs, the Brandon Police Service received a report that a 31-year-old female had attended to the Brandon Regional Health Centre in a cab as she had sustained a significant stab wound to her chest.  The victim was treated by medical staff for her injury and remains in stable condition.  Investigation revealed that the incident had occurred at a residence on Glen Avenue and that a 37-year-old male suspect who is known to the victim was responsible for the injury.  The accused has since been arrested and lodged to appear before the court on July 18th, 2026 for the charge of Aggravated Assault.
