Police News Release - July 15th, 2026

Mischief Under $5000 / Breach of Probation
On July 14th at 5:50 p.m. police were called to a restaurant business in the 2800 block of Victoria Avenue due to an aggressive male who was kicking things in the store and had smashed a window. The male was arrested to be later released once sober via Undertaking with a future court date to be determined.
Arrest Warrants
Over the past 24 hours, four individuals were arrested on the strength of outstanding Warrants for Arrest. Two of the individuals were released on Appearance Notices with future court dates. One individual was arrested on unendorsed Warrants for Arrest and remained in custody at Brandon Police Service (BPS) with court scheduled in the morning on July 15th, 2026. The 4th individual is in custody at Brandon Correctional Centre (BCC). BPS members attended BCC and executed the Warrant, and she will attend court in the morning on July 15th, 2026.
Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act (PDCIPA)
In the past 24 hours three individuals were arrested for PDCIPA and brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. They will be released once sober and able to care for themselves safely.
Breach of Peace
Over the past 24 hours, Brandon Police Service officers responded to three separate incidents requiring police intervention, ending in four individuals being arrested.
The incidents included an intoxicated male blocking traffic in the 1000 block of Rosser Avenue, a fight between two people outside a business in the 000 block of 10th Street, and a disturbance at a residence involving a family member banging on windows and displaying aggressive behaviour. In all three incidents, the individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace and brought to BPS detention cells to allow the situations to de-escalate and prevent the behaviour from continuing. They will be released once they are sober or calm and able to safely care for themselves.
Structure Fire
At approximately 12:41 a.m. on July 15, police received a 911 report of a fire behind a residence in the 900 block of 1st Street. Officers arrived to find visible flames coming from a shed and garage on the property. Brandon Fire & Emergency Services responded quicky and extinguished the fire. The fire is believed to have been accidental, with a discarded cigarette butt considered the likely cause. No injuries were reported.
