Police News Release - July 11th, 2026

For the past 24 hours:

Arrest Warrants:

An intoxicated 23 year-old female was arrested on Friday afternoon on the strength of an unendorsed warrant for her arrest for failing to attend court, after members were called to a disturbance in the 1500 block 3rd Street. The female had fled prior to arrival but was located shortly after. She was held in custody and will appear before the court this morning.

A 40 year-old male from South Indian Lake was arrested at about 11:00 pm Friday night in the 1800 block Queens Avenue after it was reported that he was wandering in traffic. The male was found to be intoxicated and was the subject of a RCMP held warrant for arrest for failing to attend court. He was held in custody to sober up and will be released to appear in court at a later date.

At about 3:35 AM this morning, a 39 year-old male was located in the 0-00 block Willowdale Crescent, when police responded to a possible stabbing call. He was found to be the subject of a warrant for arrest for failing to attend court. As the warrant was not endorsed, he was brought into custody and will appear before the court this morning.

 

Disturbances and Intoxicated Persons:

Police were called to conduct a well-being check on an intoxicated female at the Clarion Motel Friday afternoon. The 17 year-old was found to be grossly intoxicated and was taken into custody. She will be released this morning and will receive tickets for underaged consumption of liquor and causing a disturbance.

A 25 year-old male was arrested under the Preventative Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act (PDCIPA) just after 5:00 PM, after he was located in the 1100 block 18th Street, in a highly intoxicated state, wandering in a parking lot. He will be released this morning without charges.

Around 7:20 PM Friday, police were called to the Colonial Inn for a disturbance involving an intoxicated 30 year-old male. He was held in custody to prevent any further breach of the peace, and will be released from custody this morning without charges.

An intoxicated 19 year-old female was reported outside of the Keystone Beer Vendor at 9:20 PM.  Police determined she was unable to care for herself and no one could be located to assume care for her. She was brought into custody under the PDCIPA and will be released from custody this morning without charges.

At 11:35 PM, police were called to the Beer Warehouse for a highly intoxicated male outside of the business. He was brought into custody under the PDCIPA and will be released from custody this morning without charges.

Just after 1:00 AM this morning, police were called to a residence in the 0-00 block 7th Street by a female who reported a male known to her was in her residence, was intoxicated, refusing to leave, and was becoming aggressive. Police attended and subsequently took the male into custody. As there was no criminal complaint, he was held in custody to sober up and will be released from custody without charges.

A 16 year-old male was arrested at the Victoria Inn after an employee reported the suspect was intoxicated and causing problems there. Police could not locate anyone to assume custody of the youth, so he was held in custody to be released to a responsible person this morning. He will also receive a ticket for underaged consumption of liquor.

Around 2:13 AM this morning, two people purposely walked into the road to impede traffic in the 1800 block McTavish Avenue, not knowing that the vehicle they were stopping was an unmarked police car. The 35 year-old female, and 27 year-old male were both extremely intoxicated and were held in custody under the PDCIPA.

At about 5:30 AM this morning, a 33 year-old intoxicated male was brought into custody after family expressed concern for his well-being. Once he has had a chance to sober up, additional resources will be offered to him.

 

Assault and Breach of Court Order:

During an investigation into an assault complaint, the 23 year-old male suspect was also found to be breaching the curfew condition of a Release Order that he is currently bound by. The assault occurred in the 300 block 10th Street at around 10:20 PM Friday night, and involved two separate victims.  The suspect was arrested for two counts of assault, as well as the breach, and is currently in custody to appear before the court today. Neither victim required medical treatment.
