Police News Release - August 30, 2026
Robbery
On August 29, 2026, shortly after 3:00 pm, a business in the 500 block of 8th street reported that a female shoplifter became combative with employees when she was confronted. She also threatened to spray them with bear spray before fleeing. The incident was captured on security footage. Police located and arrested the suspect approximately 2 hours later. The 19-year-old female was lodged to appear in court on a charge of Robbery with Violence.
Robbery
On August 29, 2026, shortly before 8:00 pm, a business in the 500 block of 1st street reported a male suspect who was stealing merchandise threatened staff with a knife before fleeing. The suspect was located and arrested a short distance away near the intersection of 1st Street and Park Ave. The 32-year-old male was lodged to appear in court on charges of Armed Robbery and Possession of a Weapon.
Prohibited Driver
On August 29, 2026, at approximately 10:30 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of 8th street. The 26-year-old male driver was prohibited from driving. He was arrested and later released to appear in court on October 26, 2026, on a charge of Operation of a Conveyance While Prohibited.
Other arrests
In the past 24 hours, during separate incidents, four individuals were arrested on outstanding arrest warrants. Three individuals were arrested for breaching release conditions. Seven individuals were arrested and lodged due to their level of intoxication while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or to prevent their behavior from escalating.
