Police News Release - August 2nd, 2026

Assault
On Aug 1st, at approximately 7:30pm police located a male who was involved in an altercation with a female at which time he had chocked her during an assault. The male was arrested and held in BPS cells for a court appearance. The female suffered minor injuries and no EMS was required.
Robbery
At approximately 2:30am, police were waived down by a male in the 1000 block of Pacific Ave who stated he was just robbed by an unknown group of assailants who took his beer, wallet and shoes after he exited a beer vendor. The victim received minor injuries, and the suspects fled the scene. This incident is still under investigation
Breach of the Peace
Over the past 24 hours, during separate incidents, BPS arrested one male and two females for Breach of the Peace. The 50-year-old male was arrested after a family dispute with intoxicated persons. The male was detained in cells at BPS until Sober.
A 30-year-old female became involved with police during a traffic stop, at which time she was belligerent and uncooperative with police. She was lodged in BPS cells to de-escalate the situation and for her disruptive behaviour to cease.
A 19-year-old female was intoxicated and causing a disturbance in the 300 block of Maryland and the residents wanted her removed. She was lodged in cells until sober and cooperative.
