Police News Release - August 29, 2026
Resist Arrest
On August 29, 2026, shortly after 11:00 am, police were advised that an employee from a business in the 1500 block of 18th street was following a shoplifter from the store. The suspect was to abide by conditions not to attend that business due to previous incidents. Police located them in the 1100 block of 18th street and attempted to arrest the suspect who then fled on foot. The 43-year-old male was arrested in the 800 block of 18th street. He was later released to appear in court on November 5, 2026, on charges of Resist Arrest and Fail to Comply with Probation.
Assault
On August 28, 2026, two teenagers reported being victims of an assault in the 1300 block of 5th street. One victim attended BRHC with their parent to have their injuries treated. The assault took place in the early morning hours when two 14-year-old females assaulted the victims with strikes to their heads and necks. Both suspects were located and arrested that evening. They will appear in court on November 10, 2026, on two counts of assault each.
Other Arrests
Over the last 24 hours during separate incidents, six individuals have been arrested on outstanding arrest warrants, six individuals have been arrested and lodged due to their behavior while intoxicated, and one individual was arrested for breaching a court order.
