Police News Release - April 27th, 2026

Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours four individuals were arrested due to Breach of the Peace. They were each brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells to prevent the continuation of behaviour and will be released once sober/calm.
Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours three individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Two were released via Appearance Notices with future court dates while one was held for court in the morning on April 27th, 2026.
Failure to Comply Court Order / Possession Charges
On April 26th at 4:58 p.m. Police attended a residence in the 600 block of 9th Street to check on a male bound by numerous Court Order conditions – one of which is consent to search his person, vehicle or residence at anytime. (No more than 3x per month). A search of the residence located several grams of cocaine separated into individual baggies, a scale, cell phone and $5900 cash. The male was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells for court in the morning on April 27th, 2026. The 40-year-old male will face numerous non-compliance charges as well as Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, and Possession of Proceeds of Crime.
Failure to Comply Probation / Unstamped Tobacco
On April 26th at 9:01 p.m., police were dispatched to a 64-year-old male resident’s home in the 700 block of 9th Street following a complaint that a known to him female was banging on his door. The female is on conditions not to attend the residence.
Police attended and arrested the intoxicated female. A subsequent search revealed she was in possession of unstamped tobacco. The female was transported to BPS detention cells, where she will be held until sober. She will be released on an Appearance Notice, with a future court date of June 29th, 2026.
Theft Under $5000
On April 24th a male reported that a package was stolen from his mailbox. Security footage assisted in identifying the vehicle that the suspect drove away in and the registered owner was identified. At 4:12 a.m on April 27th the suspect vehicle was stopped, and the 25-year-old female registered owner was arrested as she matched the description of the suspect in the video. She was later released via Appearance Notice with a future court date of July 6th, 2026.
