Police News Release - April 22nd, 2026

Assault with a Weapon / Utter Threats x2

On April 21st at 9:09 a.m. Police attended the 700 block of Princess Avenue due to a woman threatening two staff members at a Centre for services. She had also thrown coffee on one of them. Police arrested a 20-year-old female and brought her to BPS for court later that day. (Remanded).

 

Arrest Warrants

In the past 24 hours three individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Two were held for court and one was released via Appearance Notice/Undertaking with a future court date.

 

Mischief to Property Under $5000 / Utter Threats x2

On April 21st at 6:26 p.m. Police received multiple calls about an individual throwing rocks at cars near 18th St N and Kirkaldy. Two drivers had their drivers side windows smashed as a result. The suspect was located by Police and arrested. He was brought to BPS detention cells to prevent the continuation of behaviour and to sober up. He will be released via Appearance Notice once sober with a future court date of June 11th, 2026.

 

Breach of the Peace

In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace. They were held in BPS detention cells to be released once calm/sober.

 

Protective Detention & Care of Intoxicated Persons Act

Police responded to a call late on April 21 at 11:41 p.m. about a man passed out on the front step of a residence in the 100 block of 2nd Street. Officers found an intoxicated 36-year-old male who did not have anyone to assist him. He was taken to BPS detention cells to sober up, at which point he will be released.

 

Break & Enter

On April 22nd at 2:52 a.m. Police responded to a business in the 4800 block of Victoria Avenue East for an alarm. There was a door found open and a window beside the door had been broken. The building was cleared, and it appears the office was rummaged through.
