Police News Release - April 21st, 2026

Failure to Comply Release Order x3

On April 20th at 11:00 p.m. a pedestrian stop was conducted in the 900 block of Rosser Avenue. The 24-year-old female was found to be breaching three of the conditions of her Release Order (Curfew, Possession of a Weapon, and Reside Clause). The female was arrested, brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells and will attend court in the morning on April 21st, 2026.

 

Arrest Warrants

In the past 24 hours four individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Three individuals were brought to BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning on April 21st, 2026. One was released with a future court date of May 21st, 2026.

 

Break & Enters

On April 20th at 8:13 a.m. police received a report that sometime between Friday, April 17th 4:30 p.m. and Monday, April 20th at 8:00 a.m., someone had entered a business located in the 900 block of 18th Street and stole cash. This incident remains under investigation.  

 

On April 20th at 9:06 a.m. police received a report that sometime between Friday, April 17th and Monday, April 20th at 6:00 a.m. someone entered a construction site in the 100 block of 26th Street North and broke into a trailer stealing items from within. This incident remains under investigation.  

 

On April 20th at 10:34 a.m. police received a report that sometime over the weekend someone broke into a business in the 2600 block of McDonald Avenue and stool tools valued around $5000. This incident remains under investigation.

Theft Under $5000 x2 / Failure to Comply Undertaking & Probation

On April 20th at 10:02 a.m., a store in the Corral Centre reported that a male suspect had just fled the premises carrying a reusable bag filled with unpaid merchandise, triggering the store’s alarm system. Police located and apprehended the suspect shortly afterward at a second store. The 43-year-old male was arrested and charged in connection with the theft of approximately $180 worth of goods from the initial incident. He was also charged for a prior theft at a grocery store in the Corral Centre, where he stole $220 worth of meat. Further investigation revealed the male was in breach of existing Undertaking and Probation Orders. He was arrested and taken into BPS detention cells to sober up and prevent further incidents. Once sober, he will be released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date of June 11th, 2026.

 

Mischief Under $5000

On April 20th at 9:53 a.m. police were informed by security that a female who is banned from The Town Center, was inside the mall.  The female was smoking, had spit on security and had broken a glass door to a business. Security advised they do not wish to charge for the spitting. Officers attended and located the female who was arrested for Mischief to Property Under $5000. The 20-year-old female was brought to BPS for processing to be released later via Appearance Notice with a future court date of June 15th, 2026.

 

Breach of the Peace

On April 20th at 4:50 p.m. police were called to a residence in the 600 block of Princess Avenue regarding a disturbance where two sisters were fighting. A 20-year-old intoxicated female was found to be the primary cause of the issues and was arrested for Breach of the Peace. She was brought to BPS detention cells to be released once sober.
