Police News Release - April 20th, 2026

Breach of the Peace

In the past 24 hours there were four individuals arrested for Breach of the Peace. The individuals were each brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells to be released once sober/calm.

 

Disorderly (LGCCA)  

On April 19th at 8:44 p.m. police were called by security advising of an intoxicated male causing issues at a concert. Police attended and located the highly intoxicated male. Upon being removed he started to push staff and was belligerent. The male was brought to BPS detention cells to be released with ticket once sober.  

 

Assault / Assault by Choking / Failure to Comply Probation x2

On April 18th, police received a complaint involving a 23-year-old male who had attended his ex-partner’s residence. During an argument, the male allegedly assaulted the female by punching her in the face and choking her. The male was bound by conditions not to communicate with the female or attend her residence. On the evening of April 19th, the male was arrested while already in custody at Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

Failure to Comply Probation

On April 20th at approximately 2:28 a.m., police attended a business located in the 700 block of 10th Street following reports of a male outside bothering customers and refusing to leave. The individual was found to be in violation of existing conditions prohibiting him from attending the business. The 23-year-old male was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells, with a court appearance scheduled for the morning of April 20th, 2026.

 

Failure to Comply Release Order x2

On April 20th at 4:00 a.m., police were called to a residence in the 600 block of 16th Street following reports of a male causing a disturbance outside his ex-girlfriend’s home. The 27-year-old male was bound by court orders not to communicate with the female or attend her residence.

The male was arrested, brought to BPS detention cells, and will attend court in the morning on April 20th, 2026.
