Police News Release - June 6th, 2026

Assault with a weapon, Possession of property obtained by crime.

At 7:53 P.M., a 39-year-old female was arrested after being identified as a subject involved in an assault with a weapon at a downtown bad the previous evening. She was released later for court.


At 9:33 P.M., a 34-year-old male allegedly threatened, and brandished a knife towards another male at a downtown park. Police located the suspect and found him in possession of a knife and a stolen bicycle. He was arrested and later released for court.

 

Disturbances, Summer Fair

Police and security were kept busy at the Fair last night. During the last 24hrs, three adults and one youth were removed and lodged overnight after causing separate disturbances on the Fair grounds.

 10:27 P.M., a 27-year-old male was arrested at the Fair for causing a disturbance while intoxicated. Reports were received that he was in possession of bear spray. The bear spray was discharged, however no one was injured or affected by it. No bear spay was found. He was lodged and later released when sober.

Shortly after, the second party involved was found. A search incidental to his arrest found him to be in possession of an imitation handgun. The 22-year-old male was charged for being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carry a concealed weapon, and for not following his probation order. He was lodged for court in the morning.

 

Intoxicated Persons / Other Arrests


Within the past 24 hours, not related to the Summer Fair, fifteen adults were arrested for causing disturbances throughout the city. They will be released when sober. 

At 9:55 A.M., Police arrested a 44-year-old female on an outstanding warrant for breach of curfew. She was held for Court.

At 01:23 A.M., Police arrested a 42-year-old male on the strength of a warrant for weapon offences and for not attending court. he was held for court.
