Mosquito Fogging Update - July 31, 2026

Crews completed nuisance mosquito fogging operations across Brandon at approximately 4 a.m. this morning. All areas of the city were treated except for locations within designated buffer zones.

Crews will continue to monitor and treat standing water using a granular larvicide approved for mosquito control every two days as needed.  Weekly mosquito surveillance reports are available at opengov.brandon.ca/catalog.php?dataset=mosquito_counts

Residents can also help reduce mosquito populations around their properties by eliminating standing water, cleaning eavestroughs, covering rain barrels, filling low-lying areas, and treating problem areas with biological larvicide. To reduce mosquito bites, consider using insect repellent, wearing light-coloured clothing, limiting outdoor activity between dusk and dawn, and spending time in screened-in areas when possible.
