As forecasted, water levels in the Assiniboine River are beginning to rise. Residents are reminded to stay away from flood waters, riverbanks, and any areas where crews are actively working.
City crews continue to monitor conditions and are tracking river levels as part of our ongoing flood response efforts.
Many flood protection projects across Brandon are now nearing completion in anticipation upcoming peak.
However, residents should also be aware that flood mitigation work will be taking place 24/7 through the weekend at the Wheat City Golf Course. Increased equipment, personnel, vehicle traffic, and bright work lights can be expected in the area at all hours. Please use caution, follow all signage, and allow crews the space they need to work safely.
⚠️ For your safety:
- Stay away from flood waters and fast-moving currents.
- Keep clear of dikes, riverbanks, and active work zones.
- Respect all barricades, signs, and closures.
- Closely supervise children and keep pets away from the river.
