Flood Update - July 6, 2026

The City of Brandon continues to prepare for the anticipated rise in river levels, with flood response activities now underway at multiple locations throughout the community.

Work has begun at all planned flood protection sites, including:

  • Wheat City Golf Course
  • Canada Packers Sports Field

Sandbagging operations are underway at required locations as City crews prepare flood protection measures for higher water levels.

Current forecasts indicate the peak of the flood event is still expected around July 12. The city continues to closely monitor conditions and adjust response efforts as needed.

We thank residents for their patience as heavy equipment and crews work throughout the community. Please use caution around work zones and follow all posted signage and barricades. Residents are asked to stay away from active flood response sites, flood protection areas, and sandbagging operations to allow crews and equipment to work safely and without interruption.

For your safety, residents are also reminded to stay off all dikes and flood protection structures, as these areas may be unstable and active work is taking place.

The City will continue to provide updates as flood preparations progress and conditions evolve.
