Flood Update - July 23, 2026
Good news as river levels continue to decline and Brandon begins the first actions in the flood recovery phase.
The recovery phase is a slow process that requires access to all flood impacted areas as the river allows. Drying time in the flooded areas, inspections, cleanup, and a plan for remediation are all steps in the recovery process. The safety of city crews and the public will continue to be our number one priority.
As city crews continue to monitor conditions across the city, yesterday, Tiger Dam removal took place at Kasiurak Bay, and today cleanup efforts began at flood protected residential property.
We know this has been a long few weeks, and we want to thank residents for their patience, cooperation, and support for one another throughout this flood event and into the recovery phase.
Safety Reminder: Recovery work can present new hazards. Please use caution around flood infrastructure, stay clear of active work zones, and watch for debris, uneven ground, and standing water when cleaning up your property. Give crews space to work and follow all posted signs and barriers.
While we're encouraged by the progress, residents are reminded to remain cautious as recovery efforts continue across the city.
