Flood Update - July 20, 2026

As of 7:00 a.m., the Assiniboine River level at 1st Street is 1176.64 feet, continuing its gradual decline.

As Brandon moves from response efforts toward recovery.  We will no longer provide daily river level readings, residents can be assured that the city will continue to share important flood-related information, safety updates, and recovery progress through our social media channels and website.

City crews remain actively monitoring dikes, pumps, and flood protection infrastructure across Brandon.

Recovery efforts are already underway in some areas and will continue in phases as conditions allow. This is a slow-moving process, and the city is assessing flood infrastructure, mitigation sites, and affected areas to ensure recovery work can be completed safely and efficiently.

Although water levels continue to decline, the Assiniboine River remains high, and conditions can still be dangerous. Fast-moving water, saturated ground, erosion, and unseen hazards continue to pose risks.
