Flood Update - July 19, 2026

As of 7:00 a.m., the Assiniboine River level at 1st Street measured 1176.96 feet, putting us approximately 2.5 feet below the peak reached on July 13.

As water levels continue to trend downward, Brandon will continue recovery planning and initiate damage assessments and cleanup as areas become exposed.  While the progress is encouraging, city crews remain hard at work monitoring pumps, flood mitigation infrastructure, and river conditions.

A reminder that lower water does not mean lower risk. Riverbanks, dikes, and flood-affected areas can still be unstable and dangerous. Please continue to stay away from flood waters, respect all barricades, and give crews the space they need to work safely.

We will continue to provide updates as conditions change.
