Flood Recovery Update - Aug. 7, 2026

On Aug. 5, the City of Brandon began the removal of the temporary dike closure on the west side of the Grand Valley Road (PR 459) and 18th Street N. (PTH 10) intersection as part of ongoing flood recovery efforts.

Today, the removal was completed by Tri-Wave Construction Ltd. and city crews have now completed the remaining cleanup of the roadway. All barriers have been removed, and the intersection is now open in all directions.

Heavy equipment is expected to remain on site into next week to complete the reshaping and landscaping of the north end of the dike.

We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as we continue to work through our flood recovery plan.
