February 19, 2026 - Public Information Session: Cross-Connection Control Program
When:
The City is currently developing a Cross-Connection Control Program. We invite you to join us for a Lunch & Learn on March 26 at 12:00 p.m. to review the program, outline expectations, and discuss the planned rollout timeline. The deadline for registration is March 19, 2026.
Where:
Ted Sure Room (Door C)
A.R. McDiarmid Civic Services Complex
638 Princess Ave, Brandon MB.
Who Should Attend:
We encourage attendance from:
- Companies and property owners interested in learning more about the Cross-Connection Control Program
- Contractors, testers, and installers of backflow prevention devices
- Anyone who will be involved in compliance, maintenance, or testing activities
What You’ll Learn:
The current plan is to launch the Cross-Connection Control Program to the public in the first quarter of 2027, at which point installation, maintenance, and testing of devices will become mandatory.
During the session, we will review the program from start to finish, including:
- Permit requirements
- Certification processes
- When and where devices will be required
- Responsibilities for property owners and contractors
- General expectations and timelines
Why This Matters:
The goal of this program is to protect the quality of Brandon’s drinking water and help prevent hazardous materials or contaminants from entering the water system. Ensuring strong backflow prevention safeguards public health and maintains the safety of our community’s water supply.
For registration and a parking map or more information, please contact Ryan Jalbert at r.jalbert@brandon.ca.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Thank you in advance for your participation.
