2026 Notice of Election
Brandon, MB – The 2026 Municipal Election will take place on Wed, Oct. 28, 2026. A vote will be taken to elect one (1) Mayor and one (1) Councillor for each of the ten city wards. A vote of the Brandon School Division will be taken to elect eight (8) city ward trustees.
Each candidate has been duly nominated. Candidate names are listed in the order determined by a random draw and will appear in that order on the applicable ballots.

VOTING PLACES
Electors may vote at any voting place within their ward, or one of the all-ward voting places. A list of voting places is available on brandon.ca/city-hall/election/voting-places. Voting places will be open on Wed, Oct. 28, 2026 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
IDENTIFICATION WILL BE REQUIRED BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO VOTE
A person will be required to produce one piece of government issued photo identification (e.g., driver’s license) or at least two other documents that provide proof of identity and residence or property ownership. Examples of suitable identification is available on brandon.ca/votes.
ADVANCE POLLS
For the purpose of accommodating persons who are qualified to vote, but who have reason to believe that they will be absent or otherwise unable to attend their proper voting place on Election Day, advance voting opportunities will be held:
- Wed, Oct. 14 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at City Hall (410 – 9th St.)
- Sat, Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Pioneer Lounge at the Keystone Centre (1175 – 18th St.)
- Thu, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at City Hall (410 – 9th St.)
MOBILE VOTING
Mobile voting stations will be set up on Election Day at:
- Brandon Regional Health Centre and Assiniboine Centre
- Assiniboine College
- Brandon University

For the purpose of accommodating persons who are qualified to vote, and reside at the following senior residences, mobile voting stations will be set up on Oct. 22, 2026 at:

Residents of Personal Care Homes will be given the opportunity to vote by Sealed Envelope Ballot.
APPLICATION TO VOTE BY SEALED ENVELOPE
A voter who is unable to go in person to the voting place or vote in advance, may apply in person, by email to brandonvotes@brandon.ca, or in writing to the Senior Election Official at the Brandon Votes Office, Main Floor of City Hall, 410 – 9th St., Brandon, MB R7A 6A2.The application to vote by sealed envelope is also available on brandon.ca/votes.
A voter applying by mail or email will receive a sealed envelope ballot package by regular post, or by making alternative arrangements with the Senior Election Official following the close of nominations. If applying in person, a voter may apply between Oct. 1 and Oct. 23, 2026. A person voting in person may pick up a sealed envelope ballot package at the time of application.
