Robbery

On January 7, 2020 at approximately 3:00 pm, police received a report of a robbery, which occurred at a business in the 800 block of Rosser Ave.

After entering the business, the suspect interacted with an employee and claimed to be interested in some items. The suspect took out a small folding knife and grabbed the tip jar containing cash while the employee was assisting them.

The suspect ran out of the business. Nobody was harmed, and there were no verbal threats made to the employee.

The suspect is described as female, indigenous in appearance, 6 ft., slim build, several face tattoos, wearing a black jacket, dark brown coveralls, a black hat, and carrying two white bags.

Assault

On December 26, 2019, police responded to a report of an assault, which occurred shortly before 1:00 pm that day in the 000 block of 10th street. The victim was treated for minor injuries.

Police were unable to locate the suspect until January 7, 2020 shortly before 6:00 pm. The 35-year-old male was arrested and will appear in court on February 3, 2020.

 

Assault

On December 29, 2019, police received a report of an assault, which occurred at a business in the 3100 block of Victoria Ave. after 1:00 am. The victim received minor injuries. The victim knew the suspect, as they were former friends. The suspect left the area prior to police attending.

The 18-year-old female suspect was arrested on January 7, 2020. She will appear in court on March 5, 2020 on a charge of Assault.

 

Public Mischief

On January 7, 2020, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 2300 block of Ottawa Ave. While searching the area for the suspects involved in the disturbance, officers located a male who initially provided a false name.

After discovering the male’s identity, police learned he was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant.

The 20-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. He will appear in court today on new charges of Public Mischief, and previous charges of Robbery with a Weapon, Pointing a Firearm, and Fail to Appear in Court.

 

IPDA

On January 7, 2020, shortly before 11:00 pm, police located a highly intoxicated male in the 000 block of 7th street. The 40-year-old male had nowhere to go and no one to look after him as he was from a rural community. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre until sober.

 

Arrest Warrants

On January 7, 2020, four individuals turned themselves in to police by attending Brandon Police Service throughout the day. They were each aware of outstanding warrants for their arrest.

A female youth was also arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant on January 7, 2020, as she was located in community in the afternoon.

All arrestees were lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in court today.
