Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

On December 6, 2019, police learned of the location of a stolen ATV. This led members of the Brandon Police Service Major Crimes Section to obtain a warrant to search a residential property in the south end of Brandon.

During the search, police located a stolen quad on the property. Further investigation revealed that the quad had been in the possession of the 42-year-old homeowner.

Police were unable to locate the suspect at the time of the search.

Police arrested the 42-year-old male suspect on January 15, 2020. He will appear in court today on a charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

 

Possession of a Weapon

On January 15, 2020, at approximately 11:45 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Victoria Ave. The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old male, was to abide by conditions not to attend Brandon except for court appearances.

He was arrested and searched. In his possession was a knife, a BB gun, and loose ammunition in the vehicle. He will appear in court on March 12, 2020 on a charge of Fail to Comply with Release Order, Careless Storage of Ammunition, and Possession of a Weapon X2.

 

Fail to Comply with Recognizance

On January 15, 2020, a 22-year-old female attended to Brandon Police Service to report as per her conditions; however, she was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant. She was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in court today on a charge of Fail to Comply with Recognizance.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On January 15, 2020 at 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in the 700 block of College Ave. The 45-year-old male had nowhere to stay, as he was from a rural community. People in the area were concerned for his wellbeing. Police learned he was to abide by conditions not to attend Brandon, to observe a daily curfew, and to abstain from alcohol. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order X 3.

 

Breach of Peace

On January 16, 2020 shortly after 3:00 am, police received multiple reports about a 23-year-old male. People known to the male were concerned for his wellbeing, as he was possibly under the influence of an unknown drug, and making comments that he was going to try to walk from Brandon to a rural community.

The male was eventually located at approximately 4:40 am, in the area of the 1100 block of 18th street. To prevent any harm from coming to him, he was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.
