Arrest Warrants Executed

 

On Saturday morning, while investigating an unrelated matter, police checked a 23-year-old female of no fixed address. The female was wanted on an unendorsed warrant for violating the conditions of her probation. She was arrested and lodged at BCC and will appear in court in the morning.

On Saturday afternoon, police attended a theft at a north end retailer. The 38-year-old Brandon female was arrested for the theft of approximately $50 worth of merchandise from the store and also found to have a warrant for theft from Winnipeg. The female had approximately $180 worth of merchandise stolen earlier in the day from a different store and was the suspect in a third theft earlier in December. She was released from custody and will appear in court in February.

On Saturday afternoon, Swan River RCMP located and arrested a 30-year-old Winnipeg man on the strength of a BPS warrant for Failing to Attend Court. The male was held in custody and will appear in court in the morning.

On Saturday evening, while investigating an assault, police located a male and female in the downtown area. The 17-year-old Brandon male had an unendorsed warrant for failing to appear in court, failing to appear for fingerprints and failing to comply with the conditions of his recognizance. He was lodged for court in the morning. The 14-year-old female had an unendorsed warrant for failing to appear in court and four counts of failing to comply with the conditions of her probation. She was also lodged and will appear in court in the morning.

At approximately 1:00 am, Sunday morning, police conducted a vehicle stop in the 200 block of Glen Avenue. The 42-year-old Brandon male was found to have an unendorsed warrant for his arrest for failing to comply with his release order. He was arrested and searched and found in possession of a pair of brass knuckles. He is also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon. He was lodged at BCC for court in the morning.

At 5:30 am, Sunday morning, police checked a male in the area of 1st Street and Rosser Avenue. The 23-year-old Swan Lake male was found to have an unendorsed warrant for mischief, theft, failing to comply with the conditions of his recognizance and failing to comply with the conditions of his probation. When checked by police the male provided a false name and has subsequently been charged with public mischief. He was lodged for court later this morning.

 

Assault

 

Early Saturday morning, police were called to a residence in the 1500 block of Stickney Avenue for a disturbance. It was learned that that a verbal argument between a male and female had turned physical and that female had been assaulted when the male threw her to the ground. The female was not injured. The 40-year-old Brandon male was arrested and lodged at BCC. He was released later in the day, once sober, and will appear in court in February.

 

Impaired Driver

 

At 3:30 Saturday afternoon, police stopped a vehicle in the 1500 block of Princess Avenue after failing to stop at a stop sign. The 41-year-old male of no fixed address showed signs of impairment and after failing the roadside breathalyzer twice, was charged with impaired driving and released from custody.

 

Fail to Comply with a Court Order

 

At noon on Saturday, police attended the 1000 block of Victoria Avenue after receiving complaints of a male passed out in the bus shelter. The 25-year-old Brandon male was located, highly intoxicated, and in violation of the conditions of his undertaking not to consume intoxicants. The male was arrested and lodged for release when sober. He will appear in court in February.

At 9 pm, Saturday a 21-year-old Brandon man was arrested at his residence for breaching his court order both Friday and earlier on Saturday for being in contact with a female with whom he is not to have contact with. The male was lodged for court in the morning.

At 4 am, Sunday morning, police conducted a vehicle stop in the 200 block of 13th Street. The 24-year-old female from Keeseekoowenin FN who was the passenger was found to be on a court ordered curfew of 10 pm to 6 am. She was arrested and lodged for court in the morning.

 

Other arrests

 

One person was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and one other was arrested for Breach of the Peace. Both will be released when sober.
