Fraud Under $5000:

On the 15th of December, 2019 police received a report of a lost wallet.  Shortly afterward, the owner noticed several fraudulent purchases using a credit card that had been in the wallet when it was lost.  The investigation revealed a male had made 5 purchases at different stores around Brandon using the tap function.  The purchases included food, alcohol and a gift card. Each of the transactions were recorded on the corresponding store video surveillance systems, which allowed officers to identify the 39-year-old Brandon male. He was arrested last night and was later released with a court date of February 27th.

Arrest Warrants Executed / Breach of a Release Order:

At 2:27 AM Saturday officers conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the zero hundred block of 6th Street.  Officers identified the people in the vehicle and a check of one of the passengers revealed she was the subject of 2 warrants for failing to appear in court.  Further to the warrants, she was also bound by a daily curfew, which she was breaching.  The 20-year-old Brandon female was arrested for failing to comply with a Release Order as well as the two outstanding warrants of arrest.  She was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court later today.

Other Arrests:

  • 2 males and 1 female were lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre for Breach of the Peace, stemming from three separate disturbance calls throughout the 24 hour period.
