Spring Street Sweeping Program Is Underway

June 7, 2022

Brandon, MB – City of Brandon’s Streets and Roads Section has started the annual spring street sweeping program to clean streets and boulevards of winter debris.

Crews have completed sweeping the Priority 1A Routes and are currently street sweeping in zones A, B, and G. Crews will move in between zones in order to not sweep in the same areas where residential collection is taking place. Crews are running a day and night shift with the goal to be completed by July 4, 2022.

Residents are encouraged to check the online street sweeping map to see when street sweepers are scheduled to be in your area. In areas where needed, temporary “No Parking” signs will be put in place 24 hours ahead of scheduled street sweeping occurring. As per City of Brandon Traffic By-law No. 5463 (Part 3, Section 37), vehicles parked in these signed areas may be subject to a ticket and/or tow.

As the City of Brandon's residential spring street sweeping program includes the process of sweeping winter sanding debris off boulevards and City right-of-way's (which may include fronts of lawns if there is no boulevard), residents can minimize the potential for any property damage by clearly flagging any underground sprinkler systems that may be present.

More information about the City of Brandon’s Spring Street Cleanup Program is available by calling the Streets and Roads Section at 204-729-2290.
