2022 Residential Lead Water Sample Testing Program

May 5, 2022

Brandon, MB – The City of Brandon is launching the 2022 residential water sampling program for lead testing. This annual program is a continuation of the expanded water sampling program initiated in 2021 to meet new Provincial regulatory requirements and reporting.

The City of Brandon is looking for volunteers in the area identified with the potential for residential lead water service connections to participate in the sampling program. A map has been created identifying homes built before 1950 where elevated lead levels may be found. It can be viewed online: Potential_Lead_Water_Service_Connections_Map.pdf.

Water quality testing for all participants in the residential lead water sampling program is free of charge. To volunteer, please contact the Development Services Division at: 204-729-2118. The results of these tests will be made available to those homeowners directly and in the City’s Public Water System Annual Report.

Residents outside of the catchment area looking to test their tap water for lead concentration levels can continue to participate in the City’s volunteer sample testing program. More information can be found on the City of Brandon’s Lead Water Services Information page at: brandon.ca/watertreatment/lead-water-services-information

The City’s Water Filter Rebate program is also still available. For more information on Water Filter Rebates, residents can call the Development Services Division at 204-729-2214 or email waterfilterrebate@brandon.ca
