Emergency Preparedness Week: Be Ready For Anything

May 2, 2022

Brandon, MB – During Emergency Preparedness Week, the City of Brandon and Brandon Emergency Support Team (B.E.S.T.) are reminding residents to be prepared for disasters, emergencies, and unexpected situations.

Emergency Preparedness Week encourages us all to take concrete actions to be better prepared to protect ourselves and our families including our pets during emergencies.

By taking a few simple steps, you can become better prepared. It is important to:

  • Know the risks – knowing the risks specific to our community and our region can help you better prepare

  • Make a plan – It will help you and your family know what to do during an emergency

  • Prepare an emergency supply kit

    • During an emergency, we all need some basic supplies. Power and water may be impacted. Be prepared to be self-sufficient for a minimum of 72 hours in an emergency.

Check out this Emergency Preparedness Quiz to see if you and your family are prepared for an emergency.

For more information on the types of emergencies to be prepared for, view the B.E.S.T Emergency Quick Reference Guide and check out the recommended supplies for an emergency kit.
