Brandon, MB -- The City of Brandon Solid Waste Section wishes to inform participants of the Green Cart Program that weekly pick-up for the year will conclude after Friday, November 5th, 2021.
Until then, participants are encouraged to have their compost carts placed out for collection no later than 6:00 a.m. on their scheduled day to ensure timely pick-up. As this time of year is often prone to a cycle of freeze-thaw temperatures, program participants are encouraged to place newspaper/cardboard at the bottom of their Green Cart to ensure materials release easily when being collected. Bagging yard waste in a compostable kraft paper bag is also a great option to ensure organic material does not stick!
Weather-permitting, the City of Brandon Green Cart collection program will start up again in late-spring of 2022. However, Green Cart program participants are encouraged to continue placing all kitchen waste and other accepted organics into their Green Cart during the winter months.

As of November 1st, the Eastview Landfill is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. The landfill will be closed on Sundays and Statutory Holidays. Detailed hours can be found at brandon.ca/eastview-landfill/hours.
