Brandon, MB – Earlier this week, the Penelakut Tribe announced the confirmation of 160+ undocumented and unmarked graves at the former Kuper Island Industrial School. Located near Chemainus, British Columbia, the school operated from 1889 until 1975.
All City of Brandon flags will fly at half-mast for four days and four nights in recognition of the announcement by the Penelakut Tribe. The flags were lowered Wednesday morning.
