Brandon, MB – City of Brandon Transportation Services is excited to announce Brandon Handi Transit has been officially renamed to Brandon Access Transit.
The process of renaming this service came as the name “Handi Transit” was no longer acceptable, as it was outdated and unsuitable. To come up with new naming options, a committee was given the task to prepare three possible names:
Through a series of virtual town halls, residents were given the opportunity to cast their vote for their favourite name from November 30 – December 13, 2020. Voting was done via the City of Brandon’s social media channels, in person at the Transit Info Centre, and through email to handitransit@brandon.ca.
The results were that Brandon Access Transit was selected with 39% of the votes.
