Boil Water Advisory Rescinded

November 5, 2020

Brandon, MB -- The City of Brandon Sewer & Water Section wishes to advise that the boil water advisory that was put in place for the 400 block of 23rd Street on October 26, 2020 has been rescinded by the Medical Officer of Health.

The Brandon water system has met all conditions for rescinding the boil water advisory and the bacteriological testing results have met regulatory standards, including:

  • Repairs to the water line have been completed.

  • Two sets of bacteriological tests in the affected area, including a minimum of one distribution water sample, have been submitted 24 hours apart with results meeting regulatory standards.

  • We have complied with any other directives issued by the Office of Drinking Water or Medical Officer of Health.

On October 26, there was a water main break that led to the loss of water pressure in the 400 block of 23rd Street in the City of Brandon.  The area affected included ten homes, the Sunrise Credit Union and the Sioux Valley First Nation School.  As a precaution, a boil water advisory was issued for the designated area only.
