Brandon Fire & Emergency Services Facilities Re-opened To Public Access

June 15, 2020

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brandon, MB – Brandon Fire & Emergency Services wishes to inform the public that Brandon Fire Hall No.1 (120-19th Street North) and Brandon Fire Hall No.2 (1301-13th Street) have both re-opened to public access as of today, Monday, June 15th.

Members of the public who wish to attend either building for walk-in services will be required to sanitize their hands once inside the facility and are encouraged to adhere to the signage, directional floor markers and Plexiglas barriers that have been installed for the safety of all.

As an added precaution, Brandon Fire & Emergency Services is not currently offering public tours of the facilities and car seat inspection services have also been suspended at this time. More information about Brandon Fire & Emergency Services can be found at https://www.brandon.ca/fire.

Meanwhile, the Provincial E-9-1-1 Dispatch Centre operated out of the No.1 Fire Hall continues to be staffed 24-7 and provide vital emergency call-taking services for Manitoba residents outside the City of Winnipeg. The City of Brandon wishes to stress that 9-1-1 is for police, fire or medical emergencies when immediate action is required: someone’s health, safety or property is in jeopardy or a crime is in progress. Please use 9-1-1 responsibly.

Information on how to safely access other City of Brandon civic facilities amidst Manitoba’s continuing COVID-19 pandemic response can be found at https://www.brandon.ca/covid-19-updates.
