Appointments to the Board of Brandon Downtown Development Corporation

Please take notice that  City Council will be considering two (2) appointments for a three-year term of office to the Brandon Downtown Development Corporation to begin on April 1, 2017 and expire March 31, 2020. 

The board is responsible for:

  • governing the organization by establishing broad policies and objectives;
  • selecting, appointing, and supporting the Executive Director;
  • making decisions on program administration and applications;
  • ensuring the availability of adequate financial resources;
  • approving annual budgets;
  • accounting to the stakeholders for the organization's performance;
  • utilizing personal and professional skills, relationships, and knowledge for the advancement of the Brandon Downtown Development Corporation and enhancement of the downtown HUB district and area.

 

No person shall be qualified for election as a Director if they are less than eighteen (18) years of age. Further information on the duties and activities of the Brandon Downtown Development Corporation can be obtained by contacting Elisabeth Saftiuk, Executive Director at 204-720-0342 or e.saftiuk@brandon.ca.

Interested persons are encouraged to apply online at www.brandon.ca Committees and Boards webpage, or www.renaissancebrandon.ca, or at the City Clerk's Office on the 2nd floor of City Hall, 410 - 9th Street. All applications must be received by the same office no later than 4:00 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2017.

All applications shall be considered by City Council in its selection process, and such appointments shall be final.
