The City of Brandon’s Community Services Department wishes to advise the public that due to the unseasonably warm weather, the public skating oval in the area of McGregor Avenue has been TEMPORARILY CLOSED until further notice.
As City staff have not yet been able to bring maintenance equipment onto the ice surface following the Louis Riel Day long weekend, a re-opening date has yet to be determined and will be entirely weather-dependant. The warming shacks, music and flood lights will be turned off until a re-opening date can be determined.
The City of Brandon asks that the public respect the current barricades in place at the oval and stay off the ice surface at this time.
