City of Brandon Snow Clearing Update For Jan. 3rd

January 3, 2017

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The City of Brandon’s Streets & Roads Department would like to advise the public that with plowing of residential zones completed over the weekend, crews will now turn their focus to clearing away the large piles of snow left over from the massive plowing effort. Efforts this week will focus on removing piles of snow from the many arterial/collector streets where turning lane visibility may be impacted.

As such, an overnight parking ban will be implemented overnight tonight (beginning midnight on Wednesday, January 4th) on Princess Avenue, from 13th Street to 5th Street, and on Rosser Avenue, from 14th Street to 5th Street.

As per the City of Brandon Traffic By-law, overnight parking along these routes (12 a.m. to 8 a.m.) is prohibited if a snow plowing/removal notice has been issued by the City of Brandon. Vehicles that remain parked along signed snow routes during an identified snow-clearing event risk being ticketed and/or towed at their own expense.

Questions or concerns relating to residential streets and/or driveway ridges that may have been missed during last week’s plowing efforts should be directed to the City of Brandon’s Streets & Roads Department by calling 204-729-2285 or by reporting an issue to the City of Brandon’s Public Works Department here: http://www.brandon.ca/report-an-issue.
