Public Invite: On The Edge – Brandon's Assiniboine River Story!

March 31, 2015

The Brandon Emergency Support Team and the City of Brandon invite you to join them in the telling of "On The Edge – Brandon's Assiniboine River Story!" on Monday, April 13th, 7 p.m. at the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium.

The Assiniboine River can be our greatest asset and as it turns out, our greatest foe.  Anyone who was in Brandon in 2011 or 2014 understands the unrelenting force that the river became.  Join us for an evening of personal stories, spectacular photographs and live music.  Help us relive the behind the scenes action that took Brandon to the edge of disaster as we fought the rising Assiniboine waters. Come and hear the story of the beaver whisperer, tales of the ancient Assiniboine River and even an invisible river, the Snye.  Learn about the incredible strength of the water and just how dangerous it is beneath the surface.  But more than anything else, come and sit with your neighbours and hear how everyone became part of the City's river history and part of Brandon's Community Response Team.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the WMCA or online at www.wmca.ca
