City Wide Residential Snow & Ice Clearing - February 1, 2016

January 29, 2016

Brandon, MB - the City of Brandon’s Streets and Roads Department will be conducting city wide residential snow and ice clearing beginning Monday, February 1.

As a result of the recent mild temperatures and the resulting icy and rutted condition of residential streets, City crews will begin clearing efforts on Monday, starting with the North Hill area and hilled streets in the East End. Scheduling of this work for the remainder of the city will take into consideration sanitation and garbage pickup in the residential areas and will be conducted during regular hours beginning at 8:00am.

It is important to note that residential areas will not be signed with “No Parking” signage prior to plowing, with the exception of the core area due to the narrow width of the streets. Residents and motorists can greatly aid the process by watching for snow-clearing equipment in their neighbourhood and endeavoring to park off-street until clearing is complete.

Residents are encouraged to utilize the new interactive online snow clearing map by following this link http://snowmap.brandon.ca.

Residents are also asked to call the City of Brandon Streets and Roads Department at 204-729-2285 or 204-729-2290 if they have specific questions or concerns about the street clearing efforts.
