New Play Structure Available in Parkdale Park

August 14, 2015

Brandon, MB – The City of Brandon’s Community Services Department is pleased to offer the community a brand new playground structure within Parkdale Park, located at 201 Durum Drive in the Linden Lanes ward.

Installation of the interactive play structure and five accompanying park benches began earlier this week and was completed on Thursday, August 13th. Funds for the new structure were provided for within the 2015 Parks and Recreation budget. The new structure was ordered from and installed by Playgrounds R Us out of Winnipeg and features, among other things, a zipline, an Omni spinner, and boogie board.

An inspection by Community Services staff has deemed the existing wooden play structure in the park safe to remain for public use. The public is encouraged to use the on-street parking available in the area and access the park via walking pathways.

The City of Brandon invites all members of the public to check out Parkdale Park’s newest play feature, or visit any one of the City’s numerous community greenspaces. A detailed list of public parks and other outdoor recreation spaces can be found here.
