Break and Enter

At 7:50 AM Thursday police were called to a business in the 300 block of College Ave. for a break and enter.  The compound at the rear of the business was entered overnight, several vehicles were entered and tools were stolen. The incident is under investigation.

Mischief to Property

At approx. 10:10 AM Thursday, police were called to the area of Brookdale Dr and Richmond Ave for a damaged vehicle.  A male had smashed out the driver’s window of a vehicle parked at a residence in the area.  Members were able to identify a suspect, and an area search resulted in the apprehension of an 18 year old Brandon man. He has been charged with mischief under $5000 and will appear in court on November 24.

Arrest Warrant Executed

At 1:15 PM Thursday, officers attended to a residence in the 300 block of 10th St to assist in a wellbeing check.  The officers located a 46 year old Brandon male hiding in the bathtub.  The male is currently the subject of a warrant of arrest for three counts of failing to comply with his release order.  The Order, which is still in affect contains a condition that he not communicate with a female from that address. As a result he was arrested for the warrant and two new charges of failing to comply with his release order.  He will appear in court today.

Arrest Warrants Executed

At 4:40 PM Thursday a 27 year old Brandon female attended to BPS to turn herself in for outstanding warrants.  She was wanted by Manitoba First Nations Police and the RCMP for separate incidents which resulted in charges of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and theft.  The warrants were executed and she has been released with a court date in Virden of October 28 and a separate court date in Minnedosa of December 20.

Possession of Meth / Possession of a Firearm

At 11:10 PM Thursday, police conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Park Ave.  Upon approaching the vehicle the officer observed a rifle in the vehicle in plain view. The 47 year old driver of Newdale MB was arrested for unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle.  A search incident to arrest resulted in the discovery of approx. 30 grams of Meth.  The male was charged with possession of meth for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle as well as driving while suspended.  He will appear in court on November 10.  

Theft under $5000

On July 19th a female attended to a business in the 3400 block of Victoria Ave.  While there she stole approx. $150 worth of merchandise.  The theft was recorded on video which allowed officers to identify a 30 year old Brandon female. The suspect ws arrested on Thursday evening and has been released with a court date of November 14.

Other Arrests:

  • 4 other individuals were arrested for breach of the peace, in separate incidents. Each of the four were under the influence of drugs and alcohol. They were taken to the Police Station and held until sober to ensure their safety and that of the public.
