Break Enter and Theft - Arrest

As reported in yesterday’s release, at approx. 2:40 AM Saturday, Police checked a male in the 300 block of Percy, who was found to be in breach of his conditional sentence.  Further investigation resulted in officers obtaining a search warrant for an apartment in the 1100 block of Louise Ave.  During the search officers located stolen property and other evidence tying the 37-year-old male to three break and enters within the last couple of weeks: May 21 in the 1800 block of 18th St N, May 21 in the 1100 block of Richmond Ave, and May 27 in the 900 block of Victoria Ave East.  The accused has appeared in court and was remanded into custody, with a next appearance date of June 1.

 

Domestic Assault

At approx. 3:50 PM Saturday officers were called to the 300 block of Lorne Ave for a female assaulting a male.  The two were separated by a witness prior to police arrival. Officers arrested the 25-year-old female for assault and she was released from custody with a court date of August 30.

 

Break and Enter

At 3:50 PM Saturday, officers were called to the 300 block of Frederick St for a break and enter to a detached garage.  The caller indicated that his garage was entered between 10 PM on the 25th and 9 AM on the 26th and a bag containing assorted power tools was stolen.  Entry was gained through the overhead door which may have been left open inadvertently.

 

Impaired Driving

At approx. 11:05 PM Saturday, police received a call of a possible impaired driver.  The vehicle was located in the 400 block of 26th St and a vehicle stop was conducted.  The driver, a 21-year-old Brandon female, displayed obvious signs of impairment at the time of the stop and she was arrested.  She later provided two samples of her breathe which resulted in readings in excess of twice the legal limit.  She has been released from custody and will appear in court on Sept 2.  

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

At 10:45 PM Saturday, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Park Ave.  The vehicle stopped was not registered and the driver did not have a licence.  A 15-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was also checked and he was found to be the subject of several release orders with contradicting conditions. One of the conditions that was universal to each of his orders was that he was not to consume alcohol or other intoxicates.  At the time of the stop, he was highly intoxicated.  He was arrested at the scene and has appeared in court this morning.  He was remanded into custody and will have his next appearance in court on Monday May 31.

  • 1 male was arrested and held at the Brandon Police Service for breach of the peace.
