Attempted Break and Enter

On April 19, 2021, police responded to a report of a male attempting to break into a business in the 2000 block of Park Ave shortly after 9:00 pm.  A business representative caught the 29-year-old male trying to force the door lock with pry bars. 

Police arrested the male at the business.  He will appear in court on June 21, 2021 on charges of Possession of Break-in Instruments and Attempted Break and Enter.

 

Structure Fire

On April 20, 2021 shortly after 3:00 am, police came across a structure fire in the 600 block of 18th street.  Members of BFES were able to confirm that there was nobody inside at the time.  No neighboring properties were damaged.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

 

Break and Enter

On April 19, 2021, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a shed in the 400 block of 11th street.  Suspects are believed to have gained entry between 8:00 pm on the evening prior and shortly before 8:00 am by forcing the door.

Assault

On April 13, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault of a health care employee in the 100 block of McTavish Ave at approximately 2:30 pm while they were working.  The victim did not require any medical attention. 

The suspect, a 29-year-old female was located and arrested on April 19, 2021.  She will appear in court on June 28, 2021 on a charge of Assault.

 

Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth

On April 19, 2021, police conducted a vehicle stop in the 1500 block of College Ave shortly after 3:00 pm.  A 49-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was found to be the subject of an arrest warrant for Fail to Comply with Release Order. 

Upon his arrest, police located approximately 16 grams of Meth and a quantity of cash in his possession.  He will appear in court today on charges of Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth and Fail to Comply with Release Order. 

 

Possess Property Obtained by Crime

On April 12, 2021, police had observed a 37-year-old male in possession of a stolen GT Mountain bike before the owner had an opportunity to report the theft.  The bike was surrendered and returned to the owner.

On April 19, 2021, police relocated the male suspect who once had possession of the stolen bike and arrested him.  In his possession at the time of his arrest was a can of bear mace, and two concealed knives.

The male will appear in court on April 14, 2021 on charges of Possession of Weapon X3, Carry concealed Weapon X3, Fail to comply with Probation X3, and Possess Property Obtained by Crime.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On April 19, 2021, police responded to a report of an unwanted individual in a residence.  The 33-year-old male’s destructive behavior was escalating causing concern for the residents. 

Upon his arrest, police learned that he was to abide by conditions not to communicate with the homeowner.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Undertaking X2.

 

Theft Under $5000

On April 19, 2021, police responded to a report of the theft of just under $100 worth in merchandise from a business in the 3000 block of Victoria Ave at 9:00 pm. 

The 36-year-old female suspect was arrested and the stolen merchandise recovered.  She will appear in court on July 12, 2021 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Breach of Peace

On April 19, 2021, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence shortly before 11:00 pm.  A 15-year-old female’s destructive behavior was threatening those around her and her family was unable to prevent her from escalating.  As she was intoxicated, she was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
